Please join us for the St. Paul’s Lenten Dinner Series, which takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm between Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday.
Each event will begin with either a potluck dinner, or one prepared by a group within the congregation (Vestry, Adult Choir). We will even feature some themed menus built around our guest(s) for the evening.
We have a diverse selection of musical guests who will perform after each dinner and bear witness to their faith as it is expressed in their music.
Our series kicks off on February 21st with Cantor Ivor Lichterman of Congregation B’nai Israel, who will offer songs and stories about his faith. Cantor Lichterman was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, and nurtured for the Cantorate by his father, the late Cantor Jakub Lichterman, the last Cantor of Warsaw, Poland’s only remaining pre-World War II Synagogue, the Nozyk Synagogue. You can read his entire bio here: http://www.cbitoledo.org/clergy/cantor-ivor-lichterman/
On February 28th, we welcome the Bell Choir from Sunshine Communities Spiritual Life Coordinator Rev. Mary Jo Bray will offer testimony to the power of faith music to enrich the lives of Sunshine residents. We’ll also hear from Sunshine’s music therapist about the role music plays in residents’ daily lives. You can watch a short video of the Sunshine Bell Choir in action on WTOL’s Facebook page at this link: https://www.facebook.com/wtol11/videos/10153152729601481/
In March, guests will include “Musical Norman Rockwell” Kerry Patrick Clark; Irish Folk Singer David Braun, and our own Music Director Brad Cresswell. We hope you’ll join us!
